Invalid models, Hacked OpenGL, Hacked Flames
----------------------------------------------------
Invalid Models/Hacked Flames
If you get this message even after you have downloaded the clean models
then the mmclient has detected an invalid flame texture in one or more of
your folders or pak files. You will then need to remove all the copies of invalid
flame textures and replace them with the original flame textures that came
with Kingpin.
You can download the original flamethrower textures from here.
This is done to prevent what is known as flame hacking
because it is an
unfair advantage over other players. Flamethrower was put in Kingpin
for a reason and flames need to be seen.
Also make sure your gl_polyblend is set to 1. If
its set to zero (0)
you will get kicked for hacked flames. If you hate those flashes you get
when picking things up then you can set gl_polyblend
to 2. Note that
this sometimes might take few seconds to take effect because its a hack.
Note that this
command will not
remove flames and blood from screen.
Another thing people have complained about is getting
black screen when
picking things up or getting flamed. This is due to a command called
cl_blend being set to 0. This command needs to be
set to 1 if you wish
to get rid of the black screen problem.
You shouldn't get invalid model message on Monkey Mod
1.50 and higher
servers for hacked flames. Instead you should get a flame hack message
if the server has enabled kicking clients with hacked flames.
Hacked OpenGL
Windows XP users should make sure that Kingpin is not running in a
compatibility mode. To check this, right-click on the Kingpin.EXE file and
select "properties".
ATI grafix-card users should install the latest drivers, available at:
